Barcode Scanner Module (E)
| ||
Introduction
The Barcode Scanner Module (E) is a Barcode/2D code scanner module, by using the intelligent image recognition algorithm, it can decode the 1D / 2D and DPM code on paper or PCB board quickly and accurately, compatible with multiple barcode formats including DotCode and DM, supports high accuracy, high speed and high contrast barcode scanning. Onboard USB and UART interfaces, can be directly plugged into a computer, or be easily integrated into kinds of embedded devices.

Pinout Definition
- GND: Power ground
- RX: UART input pin
- TX: UART output pin
- VCC: Power pin, connects to 5V power supply
Quick Test
Quick unboxing test, we connect the scanning module to the computer using a serial module and test it with the serial assistant software. For more configuration instructions and configuration codes, please refer to the setting manual in Resources section.
Default Configuration
The output interface of Barcode Module Scanner (E) supports UART port and USB interface. USB can be directly connected to a computer or host device using a USB Type-C cable
- The default setting for serial port is: Baud rate 9600bps, 8N1.
- The default scanning mode is: Button trigger
- The default output interface is: USB keyboard mode output
Hardware Wiring
If using TTL serial port connection
- Connect the fingerprint module to the serial port assistant module or host device according to the pin correspondence
- VCC connects to the 5V/VCC pin of the serial port module
- RX connects to the TX pin of the serial port module
- TX connects to the RX pin of the serial port module
- GND connects to the GND module of the serial port module
- Connect the serial port module to the computer
- If your computer does not recognize the module, you may need to install the corresponding serial port driver first, depending on the serial port module used
Scan Test
- Open the serial port assistant software
- According to the default configuration, set the serial port parameters and turn it on. If you are unsure about the COM port device, you can check the device manager interface on your computer
- The scanning module will light up blue after power-on, entering the scanning waiting state.
- Place the QR code for the test at a certain distance above the scanner. If the module scans successfully, the decoding result will be printed at the serial port
