Introduction

The Barcode Scanner Module (D) is a round 2D barcode scanner module with a round LED indicator, highly integrated and compact size, suitable for elevator and other code scanning applications. Adopts advanced image recognition algorithms, easy to decode various 1D or 2D codes. Onboard UART interface, can be easily integrated into kinds of embedded devices.

Quick Test

For a quick out-of-the-box test, we connected the Barcode Scanner Module (D) to a computer using a serial port module and tested it with the Serial Assistant software. For more configuration instructions and configuration codes, please read the manual in the #Resource.

Default Configuration

The Barcode Module Scanner (D) only outputs via the UART port.

  • UART default setting: baud rate 9600bps, 8N1.
  • Default scanning mode: continuous

Hardware Connection

  • Connect the Barcode Scanner Module (D) to the serial assistant module based on the pin definitions, ensuring you follow the pin definitions and not just the colors.
    • Connect VCC to the 3.3V/VCC pin on the serial module.
    • Connect RX to the TX pin on the serial module.
    • Connect TX to the RX pin on the serial module.
    • Connect GND to the GND pin on the serial module.
  • Then connect the serial module to your computer.
    • If your computer does not recognize the module, you may need to install the corresponding serial driver based on the specific module you are using.

Scanning Test

  • Open the serial assistant software.
  • With the default configuration, set the serial port parameters and open it. If you're unsure about the COM port device, you can check your computer's Device Manager.
  • After powering on the scanner module, a blue LED indicator will be on, indicating that it's in scanning standby mode.
  • Place the test QR code at a certain distance above the scanner. If the module successfully scans the code, the LED indicator will turn green, and the decoding result will be printed on the serial port.
