2.2 Connecting to the PC
1. Connecting to the PC through USB interface
Note: USB drivers for the JTAGICE XPII are installed with the AVR Studio or AVR32 Studio front-end software. Be sure to install the front-end software packages before powering up for the first time!
Connecting the JTAGICE XPII to the PC through a USB cable. Procees with the default ("recommended") options through the New Hardware Wizard.
If it is not detected automatically, point the wizard to the device driver (provided by Jungo) called JTAGICEmkII.inf which is stored in the <windows_root>\inf folder.
Once successfully installed, the JTAGICE XPII will appear in the device manager as a "Jungo" device.
Your JTAGICE XPII is now ready to use.
2. Connecting to the PC through RS-232 serial interface
1. JTAGICE XPII could not draw any power from the RS-232 cable. You should power it using the Power adapter shipped with the JTAGICE XPII, or just using the USB cable.
2. What should be noted is the JTAGICE XPII have to be connected to a COM port from COM1 through COM4 (generally COM1 would be the default setting).
