Hardware Assembly

Quick assembly steps

Prepare the parts as shown above
1. Connect Raspberry Pi 5 to the board, and attach the thermal pads ⑤ to the positions shown in the figure.

2. Pass fan power cable and NVMe power cable through guide posts at the rear of case as shown in the picture below.

3. Place the assembled components on the case and secure them with 4 screws ②.

4. Install NVMe hard disk in the location as shown below, and attach thermal pads ⑥ on it (you need to bring your own hard disk).

5. Use 4 screws ① to secure the case to the lower cover, and attach included anti-slip pads ④ at the locations shown in the figure.

6. Connect PCIe cable ③ to the PCIe ports of NVMe board and Raspberry Pi 5. When connecting, the gold finger of ③ needs to face the white side of the PCIe port.

7. Connect the power cable of the NVMe board to the position shown in the picture.

8. Connect the power cable of the fan to the FAN port of Raspberry Pi 5.

9. After all are assembled, secure 2 screws ② at the position shown in the picture.

Software Settings

Flash Bookworm System

  • 1. Connect the TF card to the PC, download and use Raspberry Pi Imager to flash the corresponding system image.

  • 2. After the image flashing is complete, save and safely eject the TF card.
  • 3. After ensuring that the shell is assembled, insert the TF card into the Raspberry Pi card slot.
  • 4. Connect the power adapter to start the system.
  • Note: Due to the thickness of the case, please make sure that the Type-C connector of the power supply is fully inserted, otherwise the Type-C connector will not be able to boot normally due to poor contact.

Enable USB Port, Microphone Input and Audio Output Port

Option 1: After installing the Raspberry Pi operating system, install the Argon ONE V5 script. Please follow the instructions in the next section.
Option 2: Edit the /boot/firmware/config.txt file and add the following line:

dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host

Install ARGON ONE V5 Script

1. Connect to the Internet and execute the following code in the terminal:

curl https://download.argon40.com/argon1v5.sh | bash
sudo reboot

2. Follow the instructions in the Argon configuration tool to change the settings and enable all the features of the Argon ONE V5 chassis.

Uninstall ARGON ONE V5 Script

To uninstall the Argon ONE V5 script, you can perform this action by clicking on the Argon ONE V5 desktop icon. You can also delete the script through the terminal Shell by entering:

argonone-uninstall
sudo reboot

Note: Be sure to reboot after any configuration changes or uninstallation for the modified settings to take effect.
